Saturday, September 21, 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Hilo Yacht Club. Two finalists, incumbent Mayor Mitch Roth and challenger Kimo Alameda, have made it through the Primary Election and now face a November runoff. The Big Island Press Club, along with community co-sponsors, is hosting a luncheon event featuring delicious pupus, a reception line, a Q&A session and ample opportunity to talk one-on-one with the candidates at the beautiful Hilo Yacht Club. The Big Island Press Club hosts a variety of events throughout the year which provides access to interesting topics and impressive experts.  All of our events are open to the public, although Big Island Press Club members enjoy special discounts.

In addition to regular Newsmaker Luncheon events, we also host an annual Scholarship Awards Dinner each May and host a celebration of our Torch of Light Winner in December.
